The 2023 Academy Sports Outdoors Bassmaster Classic is a three-day event taking place on Lake Guntersville in Alabama. The tournament features a full field of 50 anglers who will compete for the coveted title of Bassmaster Classic Champion and a share of the $1 million prize purse.

How to Attend the 2023 Academy Sports Outdoors Bassmaster Classic

he Tennessee River is set to host the 2023 Academy Sports + Outdoors Bassmaster Classic®, an esteemed championship bass tournament widely recognized as the “Super Bowl of Bass Fishing.” The event is scheduled for March 24-26 and will take place in downtown Knoxville and on the University of Tennessee Campus. The competition will witness 55 of the world’s most exceptional bass anglers battling against each other to claim the title of Bassmaster Classic Champion. It is noteworthy that the tournament is a catch-and-release event, and the bass will be returned to the fishery under the supervision of the TWRA.

Kickoff Party Family Friendly Event

The Visit Knoxville Kickoff Party Presented by TNT Fireworks is scheduled for Thursday, March 23, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Knoxville Convention Center Outdoor Plaza Terrace. This free and family-friendly event is open to everyone and will commemorate the beginning of the most thrilling event in bass fishing.

Parking: PLEASE NOTE there is NO parking directly by the event venue and the Poplar Lot will not be available. Please plan your parking before arriving – We suggest the Knoxville Museum of Art’s Public Parking Lot or the Locust St. Garage.

Tournament Takeoff & Weigh-in Information

The tournament will commence with daily takeoffs at 7:30 AM from Volunteer Landing in downtown Knoxville between March 24 and March 26. The Thompson-Boling Arena at the University of Tennessee campus will host weigh-ins at 3:30 PM every day. The Bassmaster Classic Outdoors Expo, which is popular among fans, will take place from March 24-26, Friday through Sunday, at the Knoxville Convention Center and the adjoining World’s Fair Exhibition Hall.
